The "Theme Song"[5] is played during the title sequence for Cyberchase.

It is played in E minor at an allegro tempo of 123 beats per minute.

An instrumental version is used for the closing credits. An extended version, about twice as long as the broadcast version, and an extended karaoke version, which includes backing vocals, were available on Cyberchase Online[6].

The Theme Song was composed by George Guerrette[3] and Julian Harris[4]. The lead vocalist is Karen LeBlanc[1]. Guerrette and his wife are backup vocalists. The Guerrettes' son and his friends, about four years old at the time, provided shout vocals.[2] In the closing credits, the theme music is credited to Agua Music.

Title sequence[]

The title sequence was re-animated in Flash animation when the series switched to a widescreen aspect ratio in Season 10.

We fade from black and zoom out from the Cyberchase logo on a scene set in Cyberspace. The ground resembles a circuit board, and the sky is purple, with floating objects that resemble semiconductor devices with glass domes. Jackie, Matt, and Inez jump from the horizon and run toward the viewport, smiling. A green glow on the horizon swells into a flash which fills the background and blocks the logo, drawing emphasis to the characters.

In the next scene, the children are in a room with several computers and a couch. They stand before one computer in the foreground and point to it in sudden surprise. In a reverse shot, a portal appears and draws them in.

Inside the Grim Wreaker, Hacker sits in front of a screen which shows Motherboard Control Central against a green sky. He presses a button on a handheld control panel. On the screen, a virus, a swarm of large, textured, glowing golden yellow-green particles, appears and is fired at Control Central. In the original animation, the virus appears to materialize out of nothing, whereas in the reanimated version, they float in from off-screen.

Nearby, Inez is piloting a cyberpod. Jackie raises a hand to her face in concern, and Matt points forward. The cyberpod flies ahead and blocks the virus with its underside, reflecting it back at the Grim Wreaker. Hacker, Buzz, and Delete jolt in shock as a white shatter effect spreads across the viewport and breaks it, transitioning to the next scene.

The cyberpod and Grim Wreaker fly through Cyberspace, past and over several cybersites. In the reanimated version, the cyberpod flies past some of the particles of the shatter transition. In both versions, it flies to the bottom-right corner of the frame, the Grim Wreaker appears from the left in the middleground, and the cyberpod reappears from the lower left and flies in front of the Wreaker.

Cut to a large portal that has appeared in the ships' path. The cyberpod flies through. The Grim Wreaker brakes with a tire-skidding sound effect. In the original version, the portal then fades away.

Inez, Jackie, Matt emerge in sequence from portals in front of an abstract background. They give each other thumbs-up gestures. In rhythm with the others' appearances, Digit falls from off-screen.

All four move to the left of the frame and away from the viewport, as the background is covered in lines of large red binary numbers. The children run, while Digit flies behind them. In the original version, Digit flies by flapping his wings, and eventually leaves the top of the screen. In the reanimated version, he uses his propeller tail and follows the others at a lower altitude. Dr. Marbles appears driving a vehicle, and at first looks panicked. He accelerates in the same direction as the other characters.

Inside the control room at Motherboard Control Central, Matt, Jackie, and Inez rise from the bottom of the screen, standing defiantly with angered expressions. The camera swivels clockwise around them as Hacker, Buzz, and Delete enter the frame from the right. Hacker is leaning forward, wearing a confident grin.

Cut to a long-distance shot of Motherboard's monitor. She blinks, and, with a simulated rack focus in the reanimated version, the three children hold their palms together in the foreground. Only their arms are in frame. A portal covers their gesture. Cut to each of Inez, Matt, and Jackie being drawn into the portal off of the right of the frame, once again smiling and more noticeably spaghettifying.

The children float through the purple vortex between the portals. Numbers and mathematical expressions swirl through the tunnel. By the end of the scene, the characters are floating away from the viewport toward an exit portal.

In Cyberspace, the characters emerge from the portal, now flying in jetpacks and holding their arms forward. They nosedive to the right of the frame twice, then fly toward the viewport and ascend above it.

Back in the first scene, the letters ⟨C y b e r⟩ slide in from the right of the frame, roughly in rhythm and heavily smeared in motion. The rest of the logo appears in a white flash.

Cyberchase
We're movin'
We're beating Hacker at his game
Don't tell me that he's trying to hack the Motherboard
We'll get him every time

([Guerrette] Cyberchase)
Cosmic worlds
Freaky places that we've seen
We've got the power!
Of one, two, three, four!

Running in a Cyberchase
We'll meet him face to face
We'll stick together all the time

Adventures in Cyberspace
The chase is on!
Just wait and C-Y-B-E-R-chase!

Lyrics Translation

Cyberchase
Por siempre
A Hacker vamos a vencer
Al fin lo atraparemos
Y así él temerá nuestro poder

Cyberchase
Un mundo sin igual virtual
¡Preparense!
En un, dos, tres, quatro!

Aqui vamos, Cyberchase
Estamos por entrar
Juntos hasta el final

Ya llega Cyberchase
¡Preparense! ¡Pues sí!
¡Ya comienza Cyberchase!

Cyberchase
Forever
We'll beat Hacker
Finally we'll catch him
And so he'll fear our power

Cyberchase
A virtual world like no other
Get ready!
In one, two, three, four!

Here we go, Cyberchase
We're about to enter
Together until the end

Cyberchase is coming
Get ready! Indeed!
Cyberchase is starting!

Characters[]

The following characters appear in the title sequence.

The appearances may be considered the characters' debut in the television series, although this makes little difference as each of the characters also appears in "Lost My Marbles". However, outside of the TV show, the characters were all introduced earlier in the How It All Started prequel series of webisodes.

Locations[]

Other series elements[]

Inez, Jackie, and Matt are also shown using jetpacks in the sequence that have never appeared within the show itself.

Error[]

  • In the original animation, Jackie's left eye moves irregularly in the "face to face" scene.
