Plot[]

The diabolical Hacker wreaks havoc when he steals the power pods of Poddleville, a cybercity filled with patterns. Jackie, Matt and Inez must use math and logic to crack the double pattern in the Podlock that unlocks the Poddles’ cyberpower vault before Hacker and his henchmen do!

Synopsis[]

In Poddleville, Buzz and Delete stare at the cyberpower vault. Delete runs towards the building to steal the power, but Buzz stops him and explains to him that they need the right power pods to open the vault. They spot one in a stroller. Delete sees it looks like an egg to him, but Buzz orders him to just grab it. So Delete grabs the pod out of the stroller, and the top of a triangle-shaped house twists and curls up, making a female Poddle get horrified when she sees the top of her house twisted and her pod gone. Delete realizes that if they take anymore of the pods, Poddleville will then look like a pretzel. The two robots then head off to steal more power pods.

The CyberSquad then arrives in Poddleville and find themselves in a wacky cybersite. Jackie, Matt and Inez (minus Digit who doesn't appear in this episode due to it being a remake if the show's pilot episode when he wasn't designed yet) wonder where they are, so Matt tries to contact Motherboard to give them info. They then see a square-shaped tree with numbers flashing from one to a question mark on it. They realize Motherboard might be trying to communicate with them. They look at the pattern of numbers. The numbers were one, one, two, three, five and eight. They then realize they must add the first two numbers to get the next one, so Matt adds 1+1 which =2, then 1+2 which =3, then 2+3 which =5, then 3+5 which =8 and then 5+8 which he realizes =13. So Matt types thirteen on the Sqwak Pad and completes the number pattern and Motherboard appears on the screen. Jackie asks Motherboard where they are, and Motherboard tells them they're in Poddleville, the world of the Poddles, which Jackie finds to be a cute name. Motherboard tells the kids there's trouble in Poddleville and explains that Buzz and Delete are stealing pods. She tells them that Hacker is after Poddleville's cyberpower, and with all the extra energy, Hacker could destroy their world, so she needs the kids to stop him. All of a sudden, all the square, triangle and circle-shaped houses bend and twist and curl up as many of the power pods get stolen. The kids get shocked from what they see and head off to hurry on their mission. In the Grim Wrecker, Hacker was planning to declare Poddleville to be his.

The kids arrive at a park, where they see lots of Poddles arriving there. They see a Poddle put two shapes, a square and a triangle into some kind of code system which unlocks a gate. Jackie tries to get in being Adventure Girl, while Matt and Inez try to solve the code to open the gate. Matt first puts in the same two shapes the Poddle put in, a square and a triangle, but it doesn't work. Matt then switches the square and triangle around, but that doesn't work either. Inez then looks at the shapes, they go from triangle, square, circle, circle, triangle, square, circle. Inez then shows Matt how the shapes go on the Sqwak Pad and Matt realizes the shapes repeat in a pattern. He then realizes that the next two shapes got to be a circle and a triangle. So he puts the shapes in and it works and the gate opens. The kids then head into the park where lots of Poddles were gathering. Buzz and Delete then arrive at the gate. They try to crack the code, but they're unable to solve it. In the park, the Mayor of Poddleville announces about the key to their cyberpower. Jackie then notices some power pods in a stroller, finding them numbered and colored. Buzz and Delete then climb over the wall to get into the park. As the mayor tells all of the Poddles they must unite as their pods were being stolen. When the kids hear the mayor say this, Jackie picks up a triangle two pod asking it why would anyone want to steal it. As Jackie was holding the pod, Buzz and Delete steal two more pods out of another stroller, a square three and a square five. As soon as they steal them, the big yellow tent in the park bends and twists. Each of the Poddles do pod counts and a female Poddle cries in fear when she notices her three pod was stolen, and a male one cries out that his five pod is also gone. The Poddles then notice Jackie holding the triangle two pod and they think the kids were the ones stealing their pods. They angrily walk towards the kids and surround them and get them.

Back in the Grim Wrecker, Hacker loves his trouble he caused to Poddleville, when Buzz and Delete arrive. They give Hacker the pods, but Hacker gets angry at them and tells him he didn't want them to bring him the pods. They then tell Hacker that the kids are in Poddleville, but they tell him they're now locked up, which pleases him. Hacker asks his henchmen where to the pods go. Delete nervously answers saying the closet, but Hacker tells him that's not where they go. Then Delete remembers that he wants them to take the pods to the cyberpower vault. So Hacker orders Buzz and Delete to go there immediately, so the two robots head off.

In a basement under the town hall, the kids were locked up in there as they were jailed after the Poddles thought they were the thieves stealing their pods. Since they didn't have the pods, giving them back was going to be a bit of a problem. Jackie couldn't believe the Poddles thought she stole the pod she was holding and asks Matt and Inez if she looks like a pod stealer. Inez informs Matt and Jackie that they must find a way out or they'll be kept there till they rot. Just then, the kids hear a sound. They walk to a box and Matt picks it up, and they find a Poddling. The Poddling knows the kids are innocent, as Jackie was holding a number two pod, but it was numbers three and five that were taken. He tells them they never took any number two pods as he was keeping a record. The Poddling shows the kids on a board the numbers of pods were taken so far. He writes on the board that the pods that were stolen were square threes, fives, ones, nines, elevens and sevens, triangle nines, elevens, sevens, threes and fives and circle ones, sevens, threes, fives, nines and elevens. Jackie couldn't believe so many pods have been stolen, and the Poddling informs that without them, their whole world will be destroyed. Jackie then tries to get them out of the basement. Inez then tries to communicate with Motherboard. When Motherboard appears on the board, she says, "The power is in the pattern.", and she then disappears. The kids then realize that the power must be in the pods. Inez then counts the numbers on the board, seeing they're all odd numbers. Matt then realizes that Hacker, Buzz and Delete have six of the circles and six of the squares, but only five of the triangles. Inez asks the Poddling if there's ever a number thirteen pod, but he tells her they only go up to number twelve. They then realize there's still one pod that Hacker, Buzz and Delete don't have. Inez has an idea and arranges the numbers in order and they find out that the one pod Hacker doesn't have is triangle one, and maybe without it, they can't get the power. The Poddling then helps the kids get out of the basement. Matt and Inez wear disguises as triangle Poddles while Jackie was disguised as a triangle one pod in a stroller.

Inside the cyberpower vault, Buzz and Delete were trying to figure out the code, when Hacker contacts them. He asks them if they got all of the pods, and they think they did. Hacker then informs to them that last time he checked, they didn't have a triangle one pod, so he asks them if they have that pod now. Delete was about to say they don't, but Buzz tells Hacker that they won't be long, and they leave the power vault to find a triangle one pod.

As Matt, Inez and the Poddling head down Poddleville in their disguises with Jackie in her pod disguise, they spot Buzz and Delete looking for a triangle one pod. Matt quickly tells Inez and the Poddling to act natural, but as they do, Matt accidentally kicks the stroller with Jackie in her pod disguise on it and it rolls towards Buzz and Delete. Delete notices the pod in the stroller is a triangle one, and he and Buzz, not knowing it's really Jackie in disguise, thinking they finally found the pod they need, start to take her. Matt and Inez take off their disguises and they and the Poddling start to run after Buzz and Delete. But just as they were about to go after them to save Jackie, two Poddle Police Officers spot Matt and Inez and think they escaped themselves and start to chase after them as the Poddles still think they're the ones stealing their pods. Matt and Inez couldn't get away from them as they could run faster then they can, so the Poddling had to find Jackie on his own. Matt gives the Poddling one of their Sqwak Pads and he runs ahead of them, just as the two police officers grab Matt and Inez and take them back to the town hall basement.

Back in the basement, Matt and Inez were now both tied up in chairs to be kept from escaping again, while Buzz and Delete take Jackie to the cyberpower vault. When the Poddling sees them take her into the building, he contacts Matt and Inez and alerts them that Buzz and Delete are taking Jackie into the cyberpower vault. Matt tells the Poddling he must go inside, but he tells them he's not allowed in the vault building, as none of the Poddles are, but Inez tells her she has to go, and not just for Jackie, but the whole future of Poddleville depends on him. So the Poddling goes into the vault to find Jackie. Inside the vault, Buzz and Delete have already got in one pod correctly, which was a square eleven, and they then try Jackie in her triangle one pod disguise to crack the code, but they don't get any progress. Delete then inserts a circle nine pod and it works. Delete wonders why it worked, but Buzz has no idea and informs they must keep putting them in, but Delete informs they spend forever putting two pods in which means to them it could take forever. Hacker then arrives and states that the master must do all the work, and he plans to get them to crack the code. As Hacker, Buzz and Delete get ready to solve the pattern, Jackie gets out of her pod disguise and hides. Jackie then finds the Poddling right next to her and asks her if there's another way into the vault. He tells Jackie there's a backdoor, but it's also protected by a pod lock. Jackie and the Poddling then take one of every pod Hacker and his henchmen got and head to the backdoor. It was up to them to solve the pattern before Hacker does and beat him into the vault. Jackie inserts a square eleven and a circle nine pod into the pod lock to give them a start. Hacker next inserts a triangle seven pod into the pod lock, which impress Buzz and Delete. The Poddling then tells Jackie the next pod Hacker put in was a triangle seven, so Jackie also inserts that pod in. When Jackie looks at the pattern, she realizes that the pattern has got to be odd numbers going down from eleven. So Jackie tells the Poddling to hand her a five, so he gives her a square five pod and Jackie inserts it. The next pod was a three, so Jackie picks up a triangle three pod, but when she inserts it, it doesn't work. With Hacker, Buzz and Delete catching up, Jackie needed help. She quickly contacts Matt and Inez, who were still tied up back at the town hall basement, with her Sqwak Pad. She tells them about the pattern of odd numbers going down from eleven, but when she tried a three it didn't work. Matt and Inez look at the board. Matt realizes Jackie told them the numbers, but not the shapes. So Inez asks Jackie what the shapes are. Jackie sees the shapes are square, circle, triangle, square. She then realizes it's a double pattern with numbers and shapes. This meant if it's double pattern, the next pod to be a circle three. So the Poddling gives Jackie a circle three pod and she inserts it and it works. However, Hacker gets another pod in, and now both Hacker, Buzz and Delete and Jackie and the Poddling were close to cracking the code. Jackie and the Poddling just needed one more pod, which has to be a triangle one. Jackie realizes she was disguised as a triangle one pod which is why Buzz and Delete kidnapped her. Jackie wonders what to do, since if they go back out to find a triangle one, they might get caught. As Jackie looks at the Poddling, she notices he's a triangle and number one, and thinks that he might work. So Jackie picks up the Poddling and puts him in the pod lock. The Poddling wasn't sure, but Jackie tells him it's their only chance. So she tells the Poddling to take a deep breath and suck it in. He does do, and the code gets cracked, as the pattern was finally completed. The door opens and Jackie and the Poddling were in. Hacker angrily asks Buzz and Delete where the triangle one pod is, when a flash of light suddenly flashes right in front of them. Jackie apologizes to Hacker for ruining his day, but then tells him the power is in the pattern, and in this case, it's a double pattern. Hacker, Buzz and Delete then get launched out of the cyberpower vault and fly straight up into the air as Hacker angrily shouts he'll be back. Jackie and the Poddling then quickly close the door and high five each other as Poddleville was saved.

Back at the park, all the Poddles cheer for the CyberSquad for saving their world, and the Mayor of Poddleville thanks them for getting their power restored and their world straightened out as their power pods were now safe and sound. Jackie, Matt, Inez and the Poddling were all rewarded with metals as the mayor tells them to come back anytime, and the Poddling adds to the kids to make it soon.

Trivia[]

  • The pilot episode is animated by Curious Pictures.
  • This is the only episode in which Digit does not appear, as he had never been created yet when the pilot was made. A line was added to the script to explain his absence.
  • Matt breaks the fourth wall by commenting "What, that crazy xylophone?" on the background music. This line doesn’t appear in the original pilot version (where it was instead "What, that crazy siren?", referring to the siren in the park), so it was presumably a script edit or an ad-lib by Jacqueline Pillon.
  • Jackie describes Poddleville as “Jane Jetson meets Martha Stewart”.
  • Filmed before Harry and Bianca were cast. The For Real segment starred Kareem Blackwell, who makes his first and only appearance, due to being a pilot.[citation needed]
  • Elizabeth Jonas, who voiced the Kid Poddle in both versions is the only cast member from the original pilot to appear in the main show. She would go on to voice several characters throughout the show's history, and her mother Danielle would go on to voice Mother Parallinni in season 5.
  • The audio from the scene where two Poddle police officers catch Matt and Inez remains, the lines :"The Aliens, they've Escaped!" and "Capture them!" It is unknown why they were not redubbed.
